So, I’ve been rummaging through my film vault and found a handful of images that deserve a second life. I’ve been reworking them and will be offering them in the Magic Turtle Studios shop soon!
Most, if not all, of these were shot on my beloved Nikon F2 — a.k.a. Arthur Cox.* I’ve got some others shot on my medium format** cameras as well. Living and working in the Bay Area, I pretty much always had a camera with me (besides my phone). I think I had the most fun shooting redscale film. I never knew how the images would come out (well, okay, that’s true of any film, but more true with redscale because the color shifts were so unpredictable). Some of the results truly had me jumping for joy with the staff at the photo lab because they took on a whole life of their own!
It’s been far too long since Arthur (and the rest of my film camera arsenal) and I have been out wandering and making images. I’ll definitely need to use more of my PTO from the “day job,” and go on some film photography excursions.***
Some of these photos will be part of my Tiny Treasures collection as well as larger wall art sizes.

*Why do I call my Nikon F2 Arthur Cox? I bought the camera second-hand from Looking Glass Photo in Berkeley, CA. Arthur Cox was inscribed on the camera body. I’m not sure if he was an employee of Nikon or if he was some bloke who liked having his name inscribed on his stuff.
